Depart from North America today on an overnight flight to Thailand.

Welcome to Bangkok, arriving late evening. Upon arrival at Suvarnabhumi Airport, your guide will greet and escort you to your hotel at Don Muang Airport for check-in.

Day 3

Bangkok - Chiang Mai

Today you will fly to Chiang Mai where you will be greeted and escorted to your accommodation. Spend the rest of the day exploring your new surroundings. Maybe a foot massage?

Course Content Level I: Foundation of Thai Massage

Day 4

Chiang Mai

Introduction to School.
Yogi Exercise, Hand-Knee exercise, meditation.
Introduction: Hand and sitting position in Thai Massage.
Lesson 1: Head massage demonstration / practice
Lesson 2: Neck massage demonstration / practice
Lesson 3: Shoulder massage demonstration / practice
Practice lesson 1-3
Lesson 4: Face massage demonstration & practice / practice
Lunch and rest
Lesson 5: Back massage on side lying position demonstration / practice.
Break for tea
Review Lesson 1,2,3 / spot check to improve technique lesson 1,2,3.

Day 5

Chiang Mai

Lecture on General Knowledge of Thai Massage.
Hand-Knee exercise, meditation.
Lesson 6: Back massage face down position demonstration.
Lunch and rest
Practice Lesson 6: Back massage face down position.
Lesson 7: Arm massage demonstration / practice.
Break for tea
Continue Lesson 7: Arm massage / practice.
Review Lesson 6 and Lesson 7.
Pressure check with teacher for effective massage.

Day 6

Chiang Mai

Yogi Exercise, Hand-Knee exercise, meditation.
Lesson 8: Abdominal massage demonstration / practice.
Lesson 9: Leg massage demonstration /practice. Lunch and rest
Continue Lesson 9: Leg massage demonstration / practice.
Break for tea
Review Lesson 9 leg massage / spot check and pressure check.

Day 7

Chiang Mai

Yogi Exercise, Hand-Knee exercise, meditation.
Lesson 10: Body stretching demonstration/ practice.
Lesson 11: Conclusion demonstration /practice.
Lunch and rest
Demonstration of Whole Body Massage.
Break for tea
Practice according to students’ need to cover any lessons.

Day 8

Chiang Mai

Yogi Exercise, Hand-Knee exercise, meditation.
Students perform whole body Thai massage with partner as follows:
1: Massages head (Lesson 1), neck (Lesson 2), shoulder (Lesson 3), face
(Lesson 4) and back side lying (Lesson 5) and switch.
2: Massages (Lesson 6) 5 techniques and switch.
Lunch and rest
1: Massage technique 6 back facedown (Lesson 6) and switch.
2: Massages arm (Lesson 7), abdomen (Lesson 8), and 1 leg (Lesson 9) and switch.
Break for tea
3: Massages body stretching (Lesson 10) and closing (Lesson 11) and switch.

Practical test is a part of an on-going evaluation by the teacher during practical training of each lesson, correction are made along the training to assist student until able to perform each position adequately. A short quiz is given during the week.

Completion of Level I course.

Day 9 - Day 10

Chiang Mai

Weekend – This is free time to do as you please. Spend some time with your new friends or participate in any of numerous tours of the surrounding area.

Day 11

Chiang Mai

Yogi exercise, knee-hand exercise, meditation.
Demonstration of Lesson 1 checking blood pressure “BP” using digital machine/practice.
Demonstration of foot cleaning preparation to perform massage professionally.
Organize Cards to set Level I massage sequences.
Demonstration review sequences of massage from Head to completion by the teacher.
Students practice after each session of review sequences with the help of the cards.
Supervision and technique correction by the teacher and pressure check.

Day 12

Chiang Mai

Yogi exercise, knee-hand exercise, meditation.
Continue demonstration review sequences of massage from Head to completion by the teacher.
Students practice after each session of review sequences with the help of Cards.
Supervision and technique correction by the teacher and pressure check.
Overview of characteristic of a good Thai massage.
Demonstration of variation techniques to use of elbow and arm/practice.
Practice 1 hour massage with selected massage plan of Level I.
Spot check and overview performance at the end of practice session.

Day 13

Chiang Mai

Yogi exercise, knee-hand exercise, meditation. New Lessons: Demonstration of new positions 18 more lessons/practice.
Overview practice integration of applying new positions and Level I positions when giving massage.

Day 14

Chiang Mai

Yogi exercise, knee-hand exercise, meditation.
Workshop on Tracing Sen Sib. and symptoms related to Sen Sib and massage planning discussion.
Practice 1-1 ½ hour massage with selected massage plan of Level I and II
Spot check and overview performance at the end of practice session.

Day 15

Chiang Mai

Yogi exercise, knee-hand exercise, meditation.
Practice 2 hour massage with integration of Level I and Level II.
Spot check and overview performance at the end of practice session and pressure check.

Practical test is a part of an on-going evaluation by the teacher during
practical training of each lesson, correction are made along the training to
assist student until able to perform each position adequately.
A short quiz is given during the week.

Completion of Level II course.

Day 16 - Day 17

P.M. - Practice combination therapeutic massage 1 hour according to massage plan

Lesson 16 Back massage using wooden hills

Lesson 18 Massage for sick person and old person
P.M. - Practice combination therapeutic massage 1 hour according to massage plan

Lesson 19 The making of herbal ball from fresh herbs.
Lesson 20 Application to Thai Massage

Completion of Level III course.

Day 23

Chiang Mai

This is your last full day in Chiang Mai. Spend the day as you please. Do some last minute shopping. Remember to get the contact information from your new friends.

Chiang Mai - Bangkok

Today you will transfer to Bangkok where we will stay in Thailand’s tallest skyscraper. Spend the afternoon and evening shopping and exploring in the garment and shopping district, Pratunam. Take the khalong boat to MBK or enjoy a tuk tuk ride.

Today you will be taken to Suvarnabhumi Airport for your international flight to North America.
